Meet the penguins=New England Aquarium

Do you want to meet all kinds of penguins in Boston? Do you want to see the biggest fish tank inhabited by sharks all kinds of fish and turtle peacefully in the New England area? Do you want to see the adorable seals and dolphins?  New England Aquarium is the place to satisfy your three wishes. Located on the blueline T-stop Aquarium, New England Aquarium is one of the must-go places in Boston.

For general non-member admission, the ticket is $20.95/person, but you can get a student discount once you show your valid student ID. So, are you ready to explore the blue world? Let's Go.

When you first walk into the Aquarium, you'll be greeted by the Penguin Exhibit and a fish tank as high as 4 stories where numerous fish, sharks and turtles are living peacefully together.

You would never expect yourself to see so many penguins at one aquarium. Here you can find as many as 80 penguins, ranging from African penguin to blue penguin, and the rock hoppers as shown on the right. Rockhoppers are so famous that they're actually featured in the Sony Pictures Animation Surf's Up. Depending on the time you enter the aquarium, you'll be able to see the penguin trainers doing a feeding or giving a presentation. I highly recommend the feeding. It's interesting to watch the penguins hop to the trainers and swallow the whole fish.

You'll see the penguins are highly organized, they usually eat 3 to 4 fish per bird, after that they'll automatically dive into the water and leave the room for those waiting to be fed.

The 4-story glass fish tank with a coral reef display is the paradise for an outstanding variety of fishes, sharks and sea turtles. As you walk around the tank, you will see the shark living peacefully with other species. But why? The aquarium crew member told me that it's because the sharks are fed three times a day--there's no way they'll be hungry again. On the left is the picture I took when the shark was patroling his terroritory (harmless indeed).

Besides the gigantic fish tank, there are numerous smaller tanks on each level of the aquarium containing more interesting creatures like my personal favorites, the Lionfish (shown on the right) and Leafy Seadragon.
