Rainbow Time = Boston Pride Parade

The annual Boston Pride campain has celebrated its 40th anniversary. The Pride Parade took place yesterday starting from Allington Street. The weather was not nice enough to see rainbows. it was cloudy and eventually poured down. But supporters and paraders still had a great time. I was lucky enough to "bump into" the parade and showed my support to the parade.

Excerpts from the website on the 2010 theme:

"Riots to Rights - Celebrating 40 Years of Progress" honors the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion that commenced the modern Gay Rights movement and commemorates the progress we’ve made as a community since those early days of the battle for equal rights. As Boston Pride celebrates its 40th Anniversary, we encourage our community to remember the brave pioneers before us who bravely took to the streets in protest and in anger, but with incredible hope that one day we would overcome the harsh shackles and restraints of hatred, bigotry and discrimination.

All are waiting anxiously for the parade to start, most of them are sitting along the sidewalk, chatting and excited. All are welcome to watch and show support to the parade. You'll not only find gay couples, but also straight couples and people of all ages and social backgrounds.

The government have shown strong support for the parade, as the police department and later Mayor Mernino have also shown up.

The bikers lead the Boston Pride Parade.
Paraders are using all kinds vehicles to get their voice out, to show the power of the Rainbow!
"I love my two Daddies!!"--That's so sweet.

55 years married and together!

Look! the Supergirl is in town!

As it rained harder and harder, my cellphone battery died, the picture was taken by a Boston Globe staff, showing the paraders how enjoyed they are despite of the pouring rain.

I was so impressed by the paraders for fighting for their equal rights and beliefs, and I sincerely hope that one day people back in China will embrace gay population as well.

Want to watch the parade next year? Leave a comment below and maybe we can go together!
